Big Glow

Inspired by the contrast between Australia’s blazing sunlight and the soft, enveloping glow of European interiors, Big Glow marries primal longing for the sun with the comfort of warm, diffused illumination. The design reflects Studio Truly Truly’s decade-long experience as Australians in Europe. The goal was to create a impactful, glowing presence with a sustainable focus.

Big Glow reinvents the classic ‘large glowing sphere’ lighting archetype. It stands out with its distinctive form, offering luxury, sustainability, traceability and acoustic benefits. The light provides both a soothing glow and practical illumination through its engineered downward lighting effect.

Through intensive exploration, non woven wool, blended with plant-based compostable fibre emerged as the ideal material. Under the controlled application of heat and pressure, the soft wadding is transformed into translucent panels boasting fibres with a genuine natural glow.

The entire production process of the wool occurs within Victoria, Australia. The exceptionally large forms are designed to stack inside each other, dramatically reducing shipping volume. Big Glow creates lasting beauty without lasting waste.
